Washington students spread positivity with lunch donation

The third graders in Mrs. Siebert's class at Washington Elementary are giving back with a social service project! Students recently made bagged lunches with uplifting messages on them — “You got this,” one said. Some students drew smiley faces and hearts on the bags, which held sandwiches, chips, and fruit.

The lunches were donated to Interfaith Action of Evanston, which provides food, a warm and safe place to sleep, job counseling, and more for those in need.
