Community Connector Job Description
Community Connectors embrace the diversity and richness of our school community and work together as a classroom and grade-level team by making connections, supporting teachers and uniting families and students. Typical duties of a Community Connector include:
- Strengthening community ties among classroom and grade-level families by coordinating at least one social event (breakfast, playground meet up, etc.)
- Establishing a warm and supportive relationship with the classroom teacher. Discuss with the teacher the ways parents can help support the teacher and students in their assigned classroom. Traditional ways include helping to plan classroom parties, read-a-thon activities, coordinating parent volunteers to help with reading or math.
- Maintaining and distributing a list of parent emails and phone numbers to help ensure the ability to communicate classroom or school matters to parents.
- Organizing Teacher Appreciation Week activities and coordinating teacher gifts when appropriate

Las obligaciones típicas de un Enlace Comunitario incluyen:
- Fortalecer los lazos entre las familias de la misma clase y curso planificando al menos un evento social (desayuno, reunión en el parque del colegio, etc).
- Establecer una relación cálida y de apoyo con el maestro y decidir con ellos la mejor forma en que los padres pueden apoyar al profesor y a los alumnos en sus salones asignados. Ejemplos incluyen, planificar las fiestas de los salones de clases, apoyar en las actividades de maratón de lectura, y colaborar como voluntarios para ayudar a los alumnos con la lectura y las matemáticas.
- Recopilar y mantener los correos electrónicos y números de teléfono de los padres para mantenerlos informados sobre los asuntos de la escuela.
- Organizar las actividades de la Semana de Apreciación al Maestro y coordinar la compra de regalos para los maestros cuando sea necesario.
